Subtle and delicious kedgeree at The Golden Cross. Loved the eccentric decor! Friendly service. Wish we'd found this place sooner, especially as it's for sale. Really hope whoever takes over keeps a good thing going.
Probably some the best food Ive ever had, cannot recommend enough!
Review for the restaurant. 100%, one of the best prepared and presented meals I have had. Crab & crayfish cocktail was flavoured superbly. Pumpkin and chestnut gnocchi (night have been vegan? Must have been close if not) unbelievably delectable to my peasant palette. Almond and polenta cake with Greek yogurt - I knew I should expect perfection at this stage, and it was, great cake, most enjoyable yogurt I have found for some time.
Wonderful meal, great atmosphere, definitely go back again. Owner and staff very personable and welcoming. Would recommend this place if ever in Shrewsbury. Thanks for a good night. Picture of the wine we had, excellent bottle well stored and served at the right temperature
It's certainly in the top 5 Shrewsbury restaurants. Unique place. Outstanding food. If it was in Kensington, you'd never get in and the bill would require a small loan from the gentleman's bank on the Strand. Outstanding.
