We needed somewhere for a quick lunch - excellent sandwiches and twice cooked chips - staff super attentive, friendly and helpful. Added bonus very doggy friendly.
Hour and quarter wait after booking before our meal arrived. Impromptu wedding party that turned up seems to have taken priority being the reason for the wait. Obviously they took priority over those of us who had bothered to pre book. This was a treat for our son who'd travelled from Lancashire to help me decorate my house, we were all starving by the time we turned up for our 2.30 booking. 3.45 our steak and chips arrived. The steak was the size of a toddlers palm accompanied by about 10 chips and tiny garnish of leaves. I was so embarrassed after promising him a good meal for his help, poor lad was still hungry after eating ! .meal eaten within 4 minutes it was so tiny! Son treated himself to a curry on his way home he still so hungry. After politely complaining got 15% off the bill and blame placed on the wedding party yet again. Disappointed and reluctant to return again any time soon.
Had a lovely Sunday roast here with my partner and friends. Great service. Amazing beer garden. Have heard its closing down. So make sure you visit before it does. A proper traditional pub with accommodation above.
Fantastic special place and staff and the owner gave us some interesting history on the Cromwell Inn. We will definitely be visiting again.. All the food was lovely can't wait to go back. We had a superior room with a four poster bed again spot on.
We stayed for one night and loved it. It's very quirky with uneven floors and walls but it is just full of character. The bar area is warm and cozy, and the two girls working were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. We stayed for a meal and the food was excellent there is also an outside bar area, breakfast next morning was lovely with a good choice and the lady serving was extremely nice and attentive
