A fantastic little wine shop, that, despite its size, manages to squeeze a huge array of international styles, grapes, producers and all manner of winemaking quirks onto its shelves. This is not the sort of place you'll find ranks of faceless Bordeauxs distinguishable only by the heft of their price tags, but a shop for real wine enthusiasts on the hunt for more interesting bottles. Robin himself was great to chat to, and highly knowledgeable about all the wines in his selection. He struck me as clearly passionate about biodynamic viticulture and natural winemaking, but not so much that he was in any way blind to some of the 'natural' industry's flaws, lending honest advice throughout. Needless to say, I spent more than I intended, and will certainly come back next time in Shrewsbury.
Excellent selection of wines from small independent vineyards, from around the world. Many are organic. Robin is most knowledgable about what he sells and where they are sourced from.You will not find these wines in other shops or supermarkets. Great choices and excellent value.
Robin certainly knows his wines, and has an excellent selection of bottles you are not going to find anywhere else. He does a great mixed case for my clients as gifts, and always finds something I am going to enjoy with a nice meal at the weekend. He even found a bottle of 'Mr. P' - ideal for me! (and a nice Pinot Noir).
