Perfect for a street free walk and a picnic while enjoying the views.
I have always loved Haughmond hill, even as a child I would scramble up the hill and explore for hours through the bracken filled woods filled with bluebells in the early spring. I now park my car in the well run picnic site and spend an hour or so pounding the dirt whilst completing one of my weekly trail runs. There is even a small cafe on the site selling hot drinks and hot snacks. They do charge for parking which runs to a couple of quid but I preface to contribute to an annual pass for 30 being a frequent visitor it pays for itself within a couple of months. The trails on the hill cater for almost every physical ability which enables most people to enjoy fresh air under a tranquil canopy of green leaves. Its also a great place for dog walkers but please take care and ensure dogs are kept under control as there are young children frequently playing in the picnic area and an the trail routes through the woods.
1 for 2 hours which is more than enough for the longest walk and a stop at the cafe.
Nice car park. Many beautiful paths. Very nice wooden hut cafe with interesting food.
Great place to go walking, running or cycling with family, friends or just on your own. Recommend this place for people in the Shrewsbury area or tourists visiting.
